YOUR STORY.
Your life is remembered by the stories you tell. You are here. I see you. You matter. Storytelling photography happens in the honest, unscripted moments. It focuses on who you are by patiently recording this season of your abundant life.
STOP POSING.
START LIVING.
Storytelling images are crafted through sometimes daily, other times once-in-a-lifetime events, forever cementing your moments into shared memories.
Let’s tell
stories together.
Life is unpredictable. Life is full of thresholds. Firsts and lasts.
Life makes no promises to look the same tomorrow.
In the moment, it’s easy to ask yourself, how could I ever forget what this feels like?
Except; you will. Memories fade.
BUILDING YOUR
TIME CAPSULE
Along with your storytelling photo session, audio stories will be collected through a series of questions or prompts. Your recorded words will be thread together with photos from your storytelling session to create a legacy for your future self and generations to come.
VALUES DRIVEN PHOTOGRAPHY
OPENNESS, CURIOSITY, COLLABORATION, RESPECT
This is how I approach your story. I am there to document, not direct. I get curious about you, about your lives. I will work damn hard to make sure I tell your story with the love and care it deserves.
INTEGRITY, OPTIMISM, INTUITION, CREATIVITY
I ask you to trust me. I will likely get real close at times, tell my one stupid joke, lay on your floor or ask “is it okay for me to stand on this chair?” all in the pursuit of reflecting back the beauty I see in front of me.
LOYALTY
II fall a little bit in love when we make photos together. I fall in love with the way you connect with those you love, and the smile you make when you forget the camera is there. I fall in love with the skinned knees and the worn teddy bears. I fall in love with your dreams.
FORGIVENESS
This one is for me. This is for the moment when I miss the shot. The one that I saw, but just couldn't get to fast enough. I forgive myself so I can continue to get curious and honor your day.
Kind words
“We’re not a big photoshoot family, but we wanted to memorialize our time as a family of three before welcoming baby number two. Shannon was referred by a friend who assured me she was great with camera-shy folks and nothing would feel forced or posed, and I couldn’t agree more.
Shannon is remarkably gifted. She captured the beauty and wonder we were feeling at a pivotal time, as well as the texture and details we were too busy to fully appreciate. The way our bookshelves were arranged, the toys in the living room, the jammies and slippers - the tiny details that we were too close up to recognize as exquisite – she witnessed and preserved for us.
Years later, these photos can instantly transport me back to that magical, liminal time - and I cherish them all the more.”

When your session date arrives, I am here to document, not direct. I come to you. We hang out. We get real comfortable in the places and spaces that feel good to you and yours. I just happen to have a camera with me to document the memories you are building today.
